Every person has a story. Hard stuff is usually part of the plot and storyline. Sometimes we get blocked or clogged up in our own personal pain. And, even as Christians we are often reluctant to yield all of our hearts to God. We are concerned that he will make us love people we really don’t like and be around people we are not interested in. We just want to be left alone to figure out our own relational woes. But God has a better way. He has a way to life and health through learning what it meant to live a life of love…His love.
This is a point of major breakthrough…We need new hearts!
“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people and I will be their God” Ezekiel 11:14-21
Ezekiel was a prophet who proclaimed the basic message the Jerusalem and the people in it were doomed because of the sinfulness of their hearts and their idolatry. Here he gives those far away from the Lord hope. The hope of a new heart. We know that Jesus came to give us new life and is the fulfillment of a new heart and new hope.
Think of the comparison:
Heart of stone: dead, cold, hard, unable to feel, not beating to a healthy rhythm
Heart of flesh: alive, warm, beating, keeping a proper rhythm
- Do you ever experience that your heart is divided between what you feel like doing and what you know God wants you to do?
- Do you experience cycles of division in your own heart? Wanting life on your terms, not caring about God’s ways?
A woman with a undivided heart is a woman with singleness of heart. She has one purpose, to live for God.
Most of us know what it is like to get off track. And, today I am praying that if you are have a heart division going on that you will return to the Lord, and ask him to give you an undivided, healthy, new heart. I am praying for heart transplants! God gives us the hope that He can and He will give us a new tender heart that becomes willing and able to follow his ways. A heart responsive to the Spirit.
What has happened to break your heart and challenge your hope? Run to God with that very thing today.
I am praying for you, for me, and for all those who need more and more of Jesus and His love!
You have today, live in it Jesus,
Debbie

Thank you Debbie for this “on time” message! I am learning to pick up the pieces while going through a divorce currently, but I realized I forgot that God loves me more than anyone ever could. I still hurt, but I am praying that while I am in this meantime moment, God will shape me according to his will and purpose.

I have been where you are at and know first hand how much pain in involved. I also know how much God’s love for YOU can become more real than ever before. I am praying for you in this moment and season of your life that God will make himself more real to you, provide all you need, and draw you close. He is still God, even when life falls apart. Many Blessings!
