I am a sanguine personality type. I love people, love a good party and fun is the thing I like the best.
But, even an extravert like myself can isolate, get too busy with what I want or need, forgetting that God calls us to be part of one another. And, let’s face it, it’s easier to be part of one another when the “other” is treating us fairly, lovingly or in the way we would like. But what if we are not treated the way we deem best? Then what? Well, this post is simply to remind you of the One Anothers in God’s Word:
The first “One another’s” is how not to treat people:
- Don’t bite and devour one another ( Galatians 5:15)
- Don’t lie to one another ( Colossians 3:9)
- Don’t speak evil of one another ( James 4:11)
- Don’t grumble against one another ( James 5:9)
- Don’t judge one another ( Romans 14:3)
If we go against these “one another’s” someone gets hurt.
The second set of “One Another’s” leads us into helping others:
- Accept one another ( Romans 15:7)
- Bear one another’s burdens ( Galatians 6:2)
- Bear with one another, with all humility, gentleness, and patience ( Ephesians 4:2)
- Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another ( Ephesians 4:32)
- Confess your sins to one another, pray for one another ( James 5:16)
If we choose these “One Another’s” someone gets helped.
The third set describes interactions with Christians that build them up
- Pursue what makes for peace and the building up of one another ( Romans 14:19)
- Have the same kind of care for one another ( 1 Cor 12:25)
- Admonish ( gently warn) one another ( Romans 15:14)
- Be devoted to one another, prefer one another when it comes to giving credit ( Romans 12:10)
- Serve one another ( Galatians 5:13)
- Submit to one another ( Ephesians 5:21)
- Regard one another as more important than yourself ( Phil 2:3)
- Be hospitable to one another ( 1 Peter 4:9)
Remember: If the action is positive towards one another, both parties benefit. If the action is negative, both parties lose.
Finally…Drum Roll….
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.” John 15:12
Praying God’s Word speaks to you today regarding how you live towards others.

This is so good Debbie. I work hard at these things yet sadly the one person I have the most trouble with is my non-believer husband who demonstrates few of the above and then in turn I “try” but find myself withholding. I manage to accept, love etc everyone else. How does one jump this hurdle? I do pray about this constantly.

Hi Debbie~
It’s Diane from Central Wisconsin. I LOVE the way you think! We just returned from a trip last night, and thought I’d hop online to see what you’ve been up to!
We are heading into the 8-week stretch before our “Called to Be WiLD” event, and I’m excited to see what God will do through your “Different kind of Wild” book as we use it to connect and grow women here in central Wisconsin.
Praying God’s blessings on you today~
Diane
