Today’s Theme: The Power of God
Today’s Dare: Believe in God’s Power in All Circumstances ( page 85, The Faith Dare)
Today I am reminded of a power outage at our church a few Sunday mornings ago. Everyone showed up, but there were no lights, no electricty to amplify music or the pastor. The power/ electricity that we normally take for granted, was gone that morning. The power outage changed everything in that moment. An amazing staff team pulled together and made the most of the situation, but still no power. Suddenly, as the pastor took the stage, the lights came back on. Power! The contrast was obvious and a reminder of what power does and how different things are without it.
Maybe we take God’s power for granted. Today I am reminded of the power that lives inside of me, via God’s Holy Spirit.
More later, currently online with a radio station in Edmonton, Cananda, doing a 1 hour live interview on The Faith Dare. ( on hold listening to commercials right now)
I need His Power, How about you?

I am loving the Faith Dare. I am on Day 7 today also. Yesterday’s dare was to dare to renew my mind with God’s Word. Our family is waiting on a lung biopsy for our father. We have heard nothing since Friday and being impatient and taking matters into our own hands my sister and I were strategizing yesterday on how we were going to deal with Kaiser and demand rights for our dad and leave messages all over their system and get someone to hear the urgency of our requests.
We both realized we were relying on our own strength, we were putting our hope and our trust in Kaiser hospital and on the pathology report. We did an about face and decided to put our hope in, rely on, be confident in the Lord as we wait (thank you Pastor Matt for that reminder). We dared to renew our minds with the truth of God’s Word. “For from him and through him and to him are all things.” Romans 11:36 What peace and comfort and power this brought to our waiting.
Looking forward to dare to live in God’s power today. The same power that raised Christ from the dead…..what a thought. Thank you all.

I am only on Day 4 of the Faith Dare. I go to Cornerstone Church in Manteca, and my mother-n-law was so sweet to share this book with me. God must have known that I needed this book.It came at the perfect timing!! I am learning that my circumstance does not have to change in order for me to have faith.
If I just focus on God and not the problem then I have peace.Sometimes we as women worry so much but I am learning that worry is the opposite of trust.
I am believing that God can do the impossible and that he does hold my future in his hands. I just need to trust him and obey!
God Bless all of you!!

I love the power analogy. We can all relate to it. I know I take God’s power for granted, just like I do the electrical power. Today, I dare to be aware of God’s light shining within me wherever I go or whatever I do and whomever I meet. Looking forward to His gentle nudges for keeping me on the right path. Love the book and love what it is doing to my heart. Thank You!!

Day 7 has been a challenging dare but one I need to carry with me and live daily. I have had that feeling that there are those “special” people that God uses & I’m not one of those people. This dare has me realizing that I just need to have faith, live my being mindful of God & that He CAN create the change in me & I too can be a Christian with the power He gives to all of us.

“This is what it means to live in God’s design for our lives, and doing so with the assurance of his power at work in us rather than with the flimsy notion that we can become strong enough for the task.” page 87- The Faith Dare
Ouch! This sentence really convicted me today. As a single independent woman with a good job in this world, I am enticed to believe I can have it all, be it all, and do it all. And if not, I just may be able to buy it. If only I would realize more quickly each day that the “it” I am striving for has already been prepared in advance for me. (Ephesians 2:10) I don’t even have to be strong or capable to do it because God will give me the all power I need!! I become more powerful in Him as I become more powerless in me. I think I have seen this same sentiment around the blog quite of few times, “More of God and less of me.”

We had an amazing group time last night to go over the entire week’s dares. We talked about how desperately we need to live in God’s power and how much we need to live looking up to God especially in regards to family members that we are hoping for salvation and recovery for. We have the power of the resurrected Christ inside us to do His will in the lives of our hurting and lost family members. The power to pray in Christ’s power and then rest in His provision. As mentioned in this week’s readings our choice to live for Christ today has eternal ramifications for us and our families.
