Today’s Theme: A New Attitude
Today’s Dare: Dare to choose who you will
serve and the direction you will take
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Hebrews 12
This morning waking up to the DARE was especially helpful. The reminder of God’s bigger plan and Romans 8:28, are exactly what I needed to hear. I can get so stuck in the moment, that I often just focus on what is in front of me, including disappointments and frustrations over daily troubles.
But the birds sing. They flit about and go from place to place, chirping, singing. Ah…the birds. They were given as a visual, an example, something to look at. Yes, the birds teach us alot. Scripture teaches us alot too. I think we just need to open our heart eyes and our spirit ears to hear and see what we are being taught.
Like in Hebrews it is so clear, isn’t it?
Run the race, the story of your own life, with perseverance ( don’t grow weary)
How?Next verse says, by fixing your eyes on Jesus. This is solid. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we are fixing our attention on love, care, concern, faithfulness.
This week I have been sharing my “mother’s heart” as I am getting ready to cut the apron strings with my oldest, as he takes a bride ( a beautiful one at that) next week. This dare is good for me today.
I like the last thing on the dare list ( hey, who wrote this book???) smile….“Dare to choose a bigger picture attitude all day today. That means staying focused on the plan of the big picture of your life, a plan you may not be able to see with you eyes but must trust with your heart.”
So that is it. Today, I will fix my eyes on the bigger picture. The bigger picture tells me that God has a plan, and that he holds us together as He fulfills His plan in our lives. That plan involves love and care for my children. And, that plan has brought me to this point of welcoming a new daughter into my life. I will fix my eyes on the plan, praise and sing like the birds, chirp when my heart feels a sting of sad, and rejoice in the God of my salvation. yay! Jesus makes a difference! I dare you to take Him at His word and fix your mind on the bigger picture of life, today too.
What about you? Love your comments!
Lots of you are reading ( I see the stats) where are your comments? Let’s journey together…..
Living up and Loving it!

Yesterday when I was reading over my comment I saw where I had hit the x key instead of s in a word. I high lighted it and hit backspace, and it all disappeared. I thought oh well it must have just been for me, only to find out later it was there twice. It was a true test of where I was claiming my competence and completion. So today when I get anouther chance choose whom I am going to serve and what direction I am going to take it couldn’t be more clear. THANK-YOU LORD FOR SECOND CHANCES

After reading today’s truth, Romans 8:28, this morning, I knew I had to wear my 8:28 puzzle necklace all day as a reminder that all things work for good…. even those bad, painful and hurtful things. “Things happen to us, so something can happen in us” speaks volumes to me.
I love your prayers at the end of each Dare. The other night when our Bible study group got together we each took turns reading your prayers. We love them and we were so moved and touched with God’s love and his presence. Thank You!!

The birds – so much to learn from them! Checking in from the Rocky Mountains and quietly trying to live out The Dare! Today, I shall consider the birds!

This Faith Dare has been a GREAT reminder for me to NOT FORGET “WHO” my Father is!!! and that He doesn’t forget his daughter Melanie or the concerns of her heart. He shows Himself “Faithful” EVERY time.Focusing ONLY what is in front of me REALLY helps alot. Thanks Deb for writing this Dare journey…I love it!

Purpose. It means intention, resolution, determination. We make our choice based on “the purpose.” Purpose matters in how we choose to respond. So, I am drawn to the idea of “finding purpose in the pain.” For some time now, I have looked at my trials and tests of faith to try and find purpose in them. Sometimes I can find the purpose easily; sometimes I can’t find the purpose at all. But each time, I get to choose if I am still solid in my belief that God has a purpose. It would be nice to have the pain go away once we find the purpose, but that doesn’t always happen. Yet once we find the purpose in the pain, we are able to endure and persevere through it. We choose to trust that God has it under control and He has a good purpose for it, for me or for someone who needs to see Jesus by the way I handle the circumstance or pain. When I choose to trust God in the pain, I have peace in the process of working through the pain, because I trust in His purpose and His promise. I look at each trial as a test of my faith. So, today, I choose a new attitude! I choose to trust that Cod can see the full picture of the day. He will not get up from His throne to take a break or get a snack. (I wonder what He would choose for a snack?) I will trust with my heart though my eyes cannot see. God always gives good gifts! Give all He asks, ladies, and take all He promises today. His purpose for us will be fulfilled. He will not abandon the works of His hands. (Psalm 138:6-8)
PS We had a great day at Six Flags. Even though the weather was COLD, we enjoyed the rides and each other. I threw my hands up on the first ride! Okay, it was just the tram to the entrance. But then I threw my hands up on the first REAL ride! Okay, it was the Cobra, the kids’ rollercoaster. Cliff was wedged into the seat. He was screaming like a madman through the whole ride! Okay, he was screaming on purpose. But I couldn’t stop laughing. Then, later in the day, we all went on the Tony Hawk Big Spin ride. Not much into spinning, but we all were going. And I actually did have my hands up for the first part. Then I started laughing! It wasn’t too bad! I didn’t go on it again, but I survived and wouldn’t be so quick to stand and watch the next time. A great family ride. A good gift!
