Life can be so hard. I just heard of a new mother with cancer of the uterus, and a friend losing their home, and for me…well a tidal wave of pain from a marriage that ended 21 years ago….the wave crashing unexpectedly on me just weeks out from my first born’s wedding day. Oh…life….Yes, glorious gift of life…how do we do it? how do we live it?
Today is the last day of Philippians here on the blog. Wrapping up the pages here, is like tying a bow on what we have walked through. Paul does the bow tying in chapter 4, as he gives us his secret to living content ( see yesterday) and now he leaves us with a few key verses that you may have committed to memory at one time or the other.
Take a look:
Philippians 4:13,19,23
“I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”
“And My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, Amen.”
Saying he could do everything is profound for someone who is in jail, writing to friends who are free. Yet, you see NO feeling sorry for himself. Why? Because, as he told us, he learned how to be content by choosing his gaze! His focus was fixed, and with that fixed focus, he could be content, do all things that life brought His way, trust God for all his needs, and pray and reach out in love towards others, even though his life was hard.
What will you do? How will you live?
It takes 30 days to develop a new habit or break an old one. Join me on the 30 day Faith Dare. You can go online and order a book and have it arrive this week. Beginning July 1st, I will be blogging my process through each day’s dare, and encouraging reader participation. Hope you will join me.
Let the faith journey continue!
Living up,
Debbie
