This week started with a bit of a house upheaval. We got new carpet. And, though that is exciting, the reality is…getting new carpet is much like moving. In the process of moving things on Monday morning, I lost my wedding ring. I didn’t realize it until Monday night when I was at a meeting and didn’t have my ring on.
When I saw the empty spot on my finger,my stomach immediately sank. When I went home and could not find the ring, a pit formed down in the bottom of my stomach, and lived there for a few days. All women know, a wedding ring is sentimental!
Three days came and went. No ring.
God kept adjusting my attitude about the ring, as I kept looking UP through the disappointment.
This morning in the shower I began to pray, ” Lord, I know that you know what happened to my ring. Please let me know. Give me the presence of mind to look where I haven’t looked…lead me Lord to the ring if it is in this house somewhere.”
As I stepped out of the shower I had this thought that I should check the magazine basket…magazine basket??? really? But, I have learned over the years that it is good if I follow all internal prompting leads like this, when praying about something. So I did.
And, there it was. At the bottom of the basket, the sparkle of a wedding ring. I honestly don’t think I would have ever checked this random, not used much, basket. I believe God placed the thought to check this spot into my mind, as an answer to prayer.
“for God works in us to will and to do…” Phil 2
As I wear my ring again, I am reminded that it is God who answers prayers, and it is God who speaks to us, in the inner chambers of our minds, leading and guiding us on the path. I continually stand amazed and awed at the Lord.
A magazine basket, really???? 🙂
Thank You Jesus!

What a great story and great testimony to asking God for help and then expecting His response…walking in obedience to His lead, too! : ) Yea! I’m so glad what was lost has been found.

Debbie, As I read this I totally relate with you, especially when you said, “that pit formed in the bottom of my stomach.”
This week was my b-day and I was feeling out sorts with low funds, I had set aside money for dinner on my b-day but there was still other necessities I needed for my son and I. I asked God how is the money going to come, I’m trying really hard not to fret and worry. When I went to work yesterday, I sub at a preschool, they had ballons, a cheesecake, my favorite, cards, and an envelope with money in it. I was floored and thanking God. I knew God would provide for us, he is always faithful but an envelope of money and I’m only a sub there. God is good when I do not worry or fret over my life situations which is really hard for me. I am making an intentional effort ever day not to “fret” & “worry”! Have a blessed weekend.

I totally relate. When we moved here, our landlord specifically told me there was ONE and only one key to the mailbox. Did I get a copy made? Nope. I lost the key. I was frustrated and in tears, but I prayed for the Lord to show me where it was. I had a prompting to look on a shelf I had checked several times already. As a searched something slid to the floor. When I bent down to pick it up, there was the key, UNDER the shelves where I never would have seen it. God knocked something off the shelf for me to be able to find my key. What an awesome Father we have!

It was Wednesday now and no ring so we decided to stop looking,on the wasy home that night brad and i got into an argument over the ring and i went running up stairs through myself on my bed crying and praying Lord please help us find the ring! Brad came in flip on the TV went to the cookie jar for some cookies that i had made on that Sunday night, took the first bite and there was my ring! I had baked my wedding ring into a chocolate chip cookie. What a funny but happy ending,God is good,in His timing and prayer we found our rings.
