As I ponder the things that God has been speaking to me this week, I come up with a few key points.
- My life is not to be about me, but about God’s plan for me and work in me.
- Sometimes that plan and work, makes for a hard path
- Nevertheless, I am to be emptied daily of me, filled purposely and intentionally with Him.
Though I admit, life is not as easy as 3 key points, it is more spelled out and simplified in Scripture than our minds would like to believe. Being Intentional about this is the key thing. It has to be an intentional, act of my human will, to purposely place myself in God’s placement for me each day.
for randomness…so excited about the Design4Living conference. I hope if you are in the area, or in driving distance, you can come. It is going to be so good. This year, though I am interviewing on stage, I will not be actually speaking. This was a step for me, as I KNOW that Design4Living as a ministry, is not about ME, but about providing spiritual growth resources for women. The resource doesn’t have to be me.
So, friends, the conference is providing lots of great resources for you through the speakers, they all have something to say, you don’t want to miss this year! Early bird pricing through this weekend. Great mother’s day gift, and there are scholarship funds available if you can not afford to come. Let me know!
here are some pics from past years…
Another note: Mother’s Day…thinking about the blessing of being a mother and a step mother, and thinking about my own mother.
You know, it’s a MIRACLE, that my sons have turned out the way they have. I was depressed when they were little, and they come from divorce. But, God in HIS WAY shaped them. I love my sons and am so proud of them.
And, my step daughters and I are friends and love each other. Anyone who is a stepmom, gets why this is a big deal. They too have grown up so amazingly wonderful and love and know Christ. I love that I get to have fellowship with them and we can talk about the deep things. And, our new addition, Janae, is welcome new woman and daughter. She will be marrying our son this July and we couldn’t be happier. What a happy Mother’s Day!
Then there is my own mom…those who read Deeper know its a miracle, that the woman who caused me so much pain, is also the one who left the greatest life legacy on her death…Live Like Its Real, is part of my daily thought process. It’s a miracle that our relationship was healed, whole and with nothing left unsaid before she died. I love her and miss her even as I write this…crying….right now….I do love my mom and she will forever be my mom.
Have a great weekend. Tell your mom you love her.
Thank God for the many milestones and blessings in your life.
And, remember, our lives, are not about us, but about the God who created us. Even now, HE is writing the story, His Story, in our lives.
live it one page at a time!
with love,
Debbie

What a fun blog today! Great to see God’s goodness in your family and ministries. Gotta remember that my life is to be about Him… always Him, never me.
