Philippians 3:7-9
“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, Not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which if from God by faith.”
If it is true that we reap what we sow, perhaps this biblical principle should also be applied to sowing to God confidence vs. self confidence.
When we sow to our own self-confidence and our own abilities we will reap flesh and good for self stuff.
When we sow to our belief that God is powerful and working in and through us, we will reap of the Spirit, eternal fruit, reward and good for Kingdom stuff.
Today, think of laying your self aside as sowing seed to grow into all God has planned for you to be.
I’m just saying that we can’t be all that God designed for us…when we are living full of our self.
Galatians 6:7-9
“Do not be deceived, God is n ot mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he wo sows to the Spirit will reasp everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
Think about where you are sowing seed. Think about where your confidence rests. Is it in your good health? your good fortune? your good looks? your good education?
Think about what Scripture is saying. We must lay aside even the good, for the BEST.
Learning to lay aside and live up,
