Today’s Truth: Ecclesiastes 7:13-14
“Consider the work of God; for who can make straight what He has made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: surely God has appointed one as well as the other.”
How can we fix what God himself has laid out for us?
It is easy to be joyful when times are good. But what about those days when life is disappointing, hard, and we are frustrated with not feeling blessed? Sometimes it even seems like we are getting picked on by God. As you look around you see people who aren’t even walking with God living in prosperity while you just keep barely getting by. But, God is bigger than all our doubts, all our man made plans, and all our difficult days. And, the best news is, if He has appointed both the good and the bad, then both have their own purposes in our life.
Yes, I did say….even the day of adversity has a purpose in our lives! Don’t take my word for it, look at what the Word of God says:
“… because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:3-4
Let God have his way with you, in the good times as well as the bad. Resist trying to always “fix your life”, and instead surrender to “living your life” in his presence no matter what your circumstances are. Let the hard times develop you, give into the growth, give in to God’s way of shaping and maturing.
If we look to God as often as we look for plans to fix things, we would be radiant with His presence.
Today: Look Up, Pray Up and then Live Up!
Today’s Prayer
Father, I don’t like the hard stuff and some days it all seems like hard stuff. But, I do like life change, personal change and growing stronger in faith. I realize that sometimes things can’t be fixed today if I am going to continue maturing and growing strong for tommorrow. Turn my mind around about this aspect of living and teach me to relax in the process of development.

This is amazing. I know this and believe it with all my heart. Yet it still brings tears to my eyes when I read it out loud. The last couple of years have been life changing and has drawn me so much closer to HIM. There is no other place I would rather be. We have an amazing God who loves us so much and is much bigger than anything we struggle with or that stuggles against us. Thank you again for the reminder….
