Today is the day

I surround myself with quotes…on plaques, sticky notes and in frames. Words are all around me. They remind me of truths or thoughts that I want to impress deeply into my soul. One such plaque reads,

” Today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.”

I have often taken my days for granted. I do this by not seeing the beauty in the day because I have allowed my mind to be crowded with other things…some good things, some not so good. Crowded thoughts taking me to places that are too cluttered to appreciate the beauty of life. Crowded thoughts keep me from hearing the music of the day and keep me from dancing to the praise of upward focus. Crowded thoughts rob me of it all….

But none of us, no not one…knows how long we have to celebrate life. So today is the day to live fully, love richly and surrender whole-heartedly to the Lord.

Stop for a moment and ask yourself if you are experiencing the Lord of the Day, the God of the Dance, the Song of the Soul. If you are not, figure out how to re-focus your mind and redirect your heart. You won’t regret changing gears.

Today’s Truth: Psalm 90:12, Job 14:5

“Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

“Man’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.”

• Today is the day to begin living in all that God has planned for us.
• Today is the day to take inventory of our hearts and habits.
• Today is the day to come to God for healing and wholeness.
• Today is the day to choose Biblical Truth over Satan’s lies.
• Today is the day to stand firm even though we feel wobbly.
• Today is the day to listen and pay attention to our Father’s voice.
• Today is the day to follow after Jesus, running towards Him and being changed.
• Today is the day to thank God for heart miracles in our midst.
• Today is the day to trust and settle in the groove of real-life faith.
• Today is the day to realize we are complete in Him.
• Today is the day to live and move and have our being awakend  by His Spirit.

Today is the Day! Rejoice! Live! Move! Dance! Celebrate!

Today’s Prayer

Lord, teach me how to open the gift of the “day” each morning, and to thank you for the gift of the day each night as I close my eyes. And, when I wake up the next day, may I see the new gift of the present waiting for me to unwrap and use as you have plannned.
