I have a friend, Eddie, who is the owner of a business for Interior Solutions for 
your home or office. He does all sorts of great work, improving things on the inside of things. If I wanted something done in my house or in my office…I’d call Eddie at Affordable Upgrades.* Sometimes people mistake Design4Living as an interior design or solution company and I am asked frequently ” What type of interior design do you do?” They usually aren’t ready for my answer….
“ It’s a different kind of design, I am not an interior decorator, but it’s a ministry that helps women understand God’s design for their life. So I guess you can say it’s about the interior design of the heart. Just as a designer or decorator works on a house, God works on the interior of a person’s life…their heart.”
I get many types of responses…but for the most part, they get what I am saying. For we all know, there are certain things that no one , no man, no surgery, no amount of money…can do for us.
God has an incredible interior improvement plan. And, just like my friend Eddie’s Affordable Upgrade Company, God’s plan is affordable…infact it’s free. But, don’t be fooled, just because it’s a free gift doesn’t mean that it is a cheap one…God’s word is the most exclusive, excellent, design imaginable. The master designer Himself, has a plan to work on the interior of a heart, the soul of a woman, to change her life.
Today’s Truth: Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active. sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to the dividing soul and sirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
The Word of God is:
Living…not just words on paper. Our human understanding can’t comprehend the power or life in God’s Word.
Active...it works on us. It accomplishes stuff that we can not accomplish ourselves for it reaches into areas that we can’t get to.
Sharper than any double-edged sword…It cuts to the heart of things, and has the ability to cut out the parts that are causing us to be spiritually or emotionally sick…..wow, just sit with that for a moment. God’s word does more for us at a soul/emotion level than any doctor could ever do. A doctor is limited, but God is not.
Judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart….have you ever needed a new attitude? Guess what girlfriend…God has the solution. His word brings us around to the attitude that God knows would be best for our lives. Remember that Scripture tells us that out of our heart, all of lives actions flow, so the heart is very important.
Today I encourage you to just take this in. For some, thinking that God’s Word is not just paper words but living words, will be a new thought. For others a fresh reminder of their importance and power. For all, a promise that God has given us His word and a way to freedom in Christ, through the power and promises in His Word. Jesus Himself is Truth and Life. His Word is Truth.
Today’s Prayer
Father, help me to process this today and come to a greater understanding of the power of Your Word and how Your Word works in me.
