Back to my friend Eddie from Affordable Upgrades*, the Interior Solutions Specialist. He has lots of tools in that tool belt of his. He also has skills to use those tools because he has so much experience using them.
In the same way, we have been given tools too…Kingdom Tools. But, we will not have the faintest idea how they work on a real-life project until we get some experience with them. God’s Word, the most powerful thing in our tool belt, is something that we need to get very experienced with. Don’t just have it hanging in your work apron…use it, see how it works, how it fixes things, how it transforms the ordinary to something extraordinary.
God’s word has incredible power. It takes us places that no passport or travel agent have entrance to. As we saw yesterday God’s Word is alive, active, and like a surgical tool it is healing, freeing, and restorative. And, we are told that every word of Scripture is God breathed ( 2 Timothy 3:16)…yet we complain that God doesn’t speak to us….hmmm….have we opened up His Word lately?
Today’s Truth: John 8:32, 2 Peter 1:3-4
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”…Jesus
” His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
How do we line up to Truth?
Take a verse or a passage containing a few verses…
- Read it. Try reading it out loud.
- Sit with it. Journal if you like to do that sort of thing.
- Let it speak to you. Break it down, look up definitions of words.
- Process it. Ask Questions, Use it as a starting place to talk with God.
- Converse with God about it
- Talk to Friends about it
- Repeat it frequently to yourself. Take a nugget and repeat, repeat.
- Pray it back to God as an affirmation of embracing what He has said
- Say it back to yourself as an affirmation of what God has said is true
- Evaluate where you stand in regards to what it says. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being hardly at all and 10 being all the time…where does your daily life and actions fall in regards to the verse you are sitting with.
- Ask God to move you towards a complete lining up with the Truth.
- Confess the areas that are not lined up, repent and begin receiving His power for renewal.
- By faith begin to live out the verse. Faith it until you feel it or understand it. It may take time, be patient, keep holding on to the Truth and walking it out, even when it’s foreign or uncomfortable. Trust the manufacturers instructions, and promise…it will work, it just takes time.
Today’s Prayer
Father, thank you for your great promises, your Words, and your provision through the Word. Teach me to live in the Truth and be Set Free daily.
