Life. It happens and sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s not so good.
One critical thing that we need to learn to do, is to train our focus to look upward to God…in the good times and in the bad times…and in all the in-between non-descript times.
Today’s Truth: Psalm 123:1
“I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord, our God, till he shows us his mercy.”
What are your eyes focused on today?
- A troubling circumstance?
- A relationship conflict?
- A financial obligation you can not meet?
- A wayward child?
- That extra weight that you are trying to lose?
- Something negative that someone said about you?
Lift your eyes up towards heaven. Deliberately look to God. Keep looking until he shows mercy, and you see his hand at work in the very thing troubling you.
Today’s Prayer
Father, I look to you today. I am tired of trying to figure out life my self. I look to you for your mercy, help, and comfort in the middle of all my daily things. Show me how my life can change as I keep my focus on the God who can change things.
