In the study, Anointed, Transformed and Redeemed, Priscilla Shirer says,
” God’s goals and plans for us require His power. In our natural abilities we might be able to teach the class, mother the children, stay in the marriage, or write the book, but to fulfill the supernatural purposes of these natural activities demands an anointing by God’s Spirit.
- The anointing causes a woman with children to become a developer of Christian soldiers.
- The anointing gives a mere speaker a message that penetrates the hearts of the listeners.
- An author can pen a book without the anointing, but only the anointed author can write words that carry the weight of God to accomplish eternal purposes in the lives of the readers.”
My heart resonated with her words because I know that apart from the power and anointing of God’s Spirit the things that I “do” are empty of what they could be when filled with His presence and purpose.
Today’s Truth: 2 Cor 4:7, 2 Cor 3:5, 2 Cor 5:20
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
“Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”
“We are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”
Clay jars are nothing fancy, truth is they were nothing special. Porous, easily broken, and very ordinary. Interesting that God chose to use this picture for us to relate to His power being in our ordinary selves. We too are ordinary women, human flesh, easily broken, and apart from him, nothing too special. But the point is, He desires to be the power, glory and the stamp of special or extraordinary in our lives.
It is very clear that God desires to show Himself through His people. What does this anointing and power look like to you? How can you change your approach to life, in order to receive His power and depend on it?
Today’s Prayer
Lord, fill me, an ordinary clay girl, with you.

Amen!

Thinking about the anointing led me to 1 John 2:20-27 and then John 15, and then a prayer to abide in Him,a good place to be,blessed.
