Picture frames have become a decor statement. There are small frames, large frames, simple classic frames, and elaborate decorative frames. Finding the right frame for the picture ensures that the picture will be displayed in a way that best reflects the beauty of the portrait. There are all kinds of choices when it comes to frames.
When we go through something, we quickly “frame” that circumstance. It is this framing of our events that lead us down a path of positive or negative processing about our current circumstances. Think of something you are going through right now, or perhaps something you have gone through recently…How is it framed in your mind? Is it negative, positive, neutral, or actually a joy burst of knowing that God has that circumstance under His control?
Today’s Truth: Philippians 4:4,6-9
“Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
- Circumstance….Fill in your blank here
- Choose the frame…. God is near and God is with you
- Frame the circumstance….Is there any good? Use that frame!
- Action…Rejoice, stop being anxious, pray, thank God, give him everything
- Result…Peace of God will rule you, and the frame will showcase God’s faithfulness
Remember: Sometimes the only “good” that we can find in a circumstance or event is that God is with us, and that God is faithful, even though things look bleak. That is not a second-best “finding”. Believing in God is the best frame that any of our circumstances can be possibly put in to.
What about you?
What frame have you chosen for your day?
Today’s Prayer
Father, It is easy to see things in a negative light. And, when I do that I often frame my circumstances with something negative rather than positive. Once negative in my thinking I begin to spiral to a point that often seems to go to a “no return” zone. Teach me to frame my life’s events in the protective casing of your love for me. Help me to learn to do what the Apostle Paul was teaching here in Philippians. Teach me how to rejoice in everything, so that I can frame my life with the framing materials that will show off the beauty of your son Jesus.

used yesterday’s post with He is My All, chapter 7 – Love corrects me. The four sides of our frames were: love, justice, we have his spirit, and He doesn’t want to be a party to our death. It fit perfectly with the frame…so thank you! Love, Lorri
