Today, in my local church, Cornerstone Fellowship, I will be teaching chapter 5 in the Deeper book, Transformed by Truth.
As I have prepared for the class I have been mindful of the discipline of learning to line my life, my mind, and my self, up to the Truth in God’s Word.
In keeping with the theme of this week…lining up to truth…today I will ask the question:
What IF I lined my life up to the truth of God’s love for me?
This is an important question, because many of our problems as people today are based in fear. And according to scripture, in 1 John 4, we are told that Perfect Love, God’s love, drives out fear in our lives.
Think with me here….
If you had an ant problem would you just allow the ants to run all over your counters and get in all your food for the week?
Would you over look the invading army of ants just because you didn’t know what to do?
No, I don’t think so. You would find out what to do to get RID of those ants. Those ants are ruining your sanity, looking at them, cleaning them up and having them come back, crawling all over your food…..you get the picture.
You would find out what it took to DRIVE them out of your house.
Right?
Fear is like those ants! Don’t just look at it, and let it crawl all over you. God has told us, in His word, that His love DRIVES the ants of FEAR out.
Today take in the RAID of God’s WORD.
Ponder, meditate, think on these truths…...
1 John 4:9-10
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son a s an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
Isa 49:16
“I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”
Hebrews 13:5
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Jeremiah 31:3
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
I will build you up again, and you will be rebuilt.”
Psalm 138:8
“The lord will fulfill his purpose or me; your love, O LORD, endures forever—do not abandon the works of your hands.”
Isa 54:10
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on you.”
Isa 43:2,4
“When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, Your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…you are precious in my sight, and I love you.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal live. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
1 John 3:1
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
Today’s Prayer
Lord make your word real to me. Do not let it go void in my mind and heart. Have your perfect way in me by putting the truth of your word deep within my soul. I thank you that your truth, your love for me, removes from me the all-consuming fear that can result in real life circumstances. Jesus be the healing, cleansing force in my mind today. Thank you for your love, Thank you for your Word, Thank your for Truth.
