It’s easy to live like I’m on my own, unloved, or never enough. Unfortunately as a woman today, the idea of being not enough is pretty common. Each of us are affected by images, the media, our belief system, and the words that we say to ourselves or that others say to us. Our entire life and culture act as a mirror, that is often not accurate.
When we believe we are never enough, we assume that we are also held to that negative standard by God. This insecurity about His love for us, takes insecurity to a whole other level. Satan moves on this opportunity and desires nothing more to devour us in any way he can. If he can get us to think we are alone in this world, then he will have won the battle over us. Soon, while believing we are alone, we will live under the weight of life, rather than in the freedom that can come from knowing that we are loved and cared for by the God of all creation.
God has a different message for us. His message is that we are loved. We are loved with a focused, radical love. This love is so much greater than anything we can imagine, that it’s hard sometimes to believe it and learn to live in it. But, though it seems lofty, it is not. It is near and practical. Our God of love knows us completely and protects us based on what is known. He has planned for us and we are not an accident or mistake. God knows the number of our days and each day that we live He is the beating of our heart. Our part is to follow Him in the days that we have breath and life within us.
What does living like you are loved change?
- The acceptance can help you relax and settle into who God made you
- The assurance can help you quit comparing yourself to anyone else
- The acknowledgment of God’s Love knowing you can help you believe that even in th hardest of days, God’s plan is leading you on your path.
- The awareness of God’s Love can help put fear to rest.
Today’s Truth: Ephesians 1:4-5
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ.”
In love he predestined us. Think about that. Some times the word predestined is not what I want to hear. Why? Because it leaves me out of the control seat. But, being predestined, pre-planned, designed…for God’s purpose is the biggest piece in the puzzle of God’s love for me. This means, that he will be sure to provide all that is needed to get me to his desired end. I may not be the one in control, but I can trust my life to the God who is.
How about you? What would living loved look like to you today?
Today’s Prayer
Father, I thank you that you chose me. I thank you that you love me. I thank you that you have plans for me, determined, predestined, designs for my days.
