There are so many turns we can take in life. There are twists and forks in the road and situational hurdles to maneuver. Sometimes life is confusing. I try to do my best, hope for the best, but often get worried that I haven’t taken the right turn. What about you?
Do you wonder if you’ve made the right decision about your job, that new purchase, your plans, the course of medical treatment to take,the conversation you need to have with someone?
And as a parent we are called to make decisions and direct the path of children who are dependent on us for our wise advice…Ha! I have worried if I making the right decisions moment by moment as children keep you on your toes, with questions that need to be answered, and reasons that need to be explained and decisions to be made about what they will or will not be allowed to do. Yes, life is a bunch of twists and turns.
But what if….. Yes…what if…..God really directed our path?
Today’s Question:
What if I believed God DIRECTS my path?
Today’s Truth: Proverbs 3:5-6
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
In the Amplified:
In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.”
Processing the Truth:
Acknowledge: to admit the existence, reality or truth of. To express recognition of. To express gratitude for.
To acknowledge God in every situation will be a shift for sure, but it’s more of an attitude shift that can permeate our entire being. It’s about relationship, and his existence, the reality of that existence with us, guiding us, leading us, directing us.
Walking it Out:
Situation Presents Itself…
I begin to give to the Lord, this happens in the form of conversation with a God that I have a relationship with:
“I have this problem and am not sure what to do God. I am coming to you knowing that you are with me and that the reality of my life is…you live in me and you are guiding me each day and each step to live in your plan for me. So, Lord, once again show me what to do with this situation. I give it to you…and I am trusting that you will show me which way to turn, what steps to take, what words to say. Thank you Lord for your word says If I acknowledge you in my ways YOU WILL direct my path. Thanks for your Word of Truth. I believe you even now.”
I sometimes think of that guidance as an internal GPS system.
God’s Planning System. When I am connected to God … acknowledging his existence in my day, turned on to him and volume tuned in to his channel…I can hear the direction. It’s not an audible voice like the GPS system in a car, but an internal GPS for sure. He will lead us direct us, and make our path straight.
